Rowlett

Rowlett sits about 20 miles northeast of downtown Dallas on Lake Ray Hubbard, with more than 30 miles of shoreline inside the city limits. The water shapes most of this market — the Dalrock peninsula, gated lakefront communities like Waters Edge, and the newer construction going up along the Bayside and Sapphire Bay corridor. Inland, Waterview anchors the golf-course side of town, while Princeton Park, Westwood, and the Springfield neighborhoods hold much of the established housing stock. Commuting options are better than most lake towns offer: the President George Bush Turnpike, nearby I-30, and the DART Blue Line's southern terminus at Downtown Rowlett Station. School districts split at Dalrock Road, with Rockwall ISD to the east and Garland ISD covering the rest. Home to roughly 68,000 residents, Rowlett has grown steadily since Lake Ray Hubbard was completed in 1971.
